I want to thank everyone who took the time to respond to our survey during the holidays. It probably wasn’t the best time to ask!
We did get some good information from the responses, which we want to share with you.
Quilting Type
It is good to know what types of quilts you like to make, especially since I design so many!
Panels are very popular with fabric manufacturers. So, it is good to know that other types of quilts are what you want to see.
It looks like traditional piecing, foundation piecing and applique work are high on most of your lists. I will make sure to keep making these for you,
Of course, I will keep expanding my 3-D applique collections as these are really unique and our members in the Floral Fancy Guild are really loving it.
We will be offering an introductory class on this technique within the first quarter this year. You can see if you like it as well.
Quilt Size
Mid-sized quilts like throw, twin and full are the most requested. This is very good to know!
Shops in different areas report that some clients favor Queen, while others prefer Full. You provided a third option – Full-size.
Again, this information helps me understand what sizes to design for you.
Content
This was probably one of the most important questions for my subscribers! I want to make sure you are getting the content you want.
Color Theory made the cut for content. I will keep some of it each month in the newsletter. And I am contemplating more in-depth information in a membership setting later in the year for those who really want a more immersive experience.
Video Tips also made the list. I am working on more video content for our YouTube channel. A good portion will be assistance with blocks in our patterns. We will also sprinkle in some tips and tricks for you.
Tutorials will continue to be part of our routine content. This will be geared towards embellishments and techniques used in our patterns.
For our new patterns, we will be listing our patterns monthly in an online catalog. A link will be provided in the newsletter so you can see what is new each month.
Finally, we will continue our free block of the month as part of Quilt Block Mania. This year, I have picked a secondary theme that will run through my blocks – Nutcrackers.
As part of the series, which I hope you will like, I will be sharing tips and tricks for embellishments.
Classes
It looks like most of you want to learn at your own pace. That is fantastic!
This lets me know to keep creating free videos and paid on-demand courses. These give both of us the most flexibility.
In addition to our YouTube Channel, we also have on-demand classes, and Snippets (short videos). We will be adding more to these this year.
