“The red, white, and blue.” “Stars and Stripes.” Two phrases, one flag — and I wanted both in this quilt.
When I found Hoffman’s Freedom Ring panel, I knew it needed a setting that was as American as the imagery itself. But how many star-and-stripe quilts are already out there? I needed a different angle. So I went traditional on the stars — classic Ohio Stars floating in a field of navy on the outer border — and went decidedly modern on the stripes. Not candy stripes. Think bolder. More urgent. Diagonal red-and-white blocks that frame the panel like it’s something worth protecting.
Because it is.
Two colorways: Americana in true red, white, and navy, or Sepia for a vintage Americana mood.
