That’s exactly what happened with Diamond Panes. Take a classic log cabin construction, squeeze it from a square into a diamond, and watch the “pressure” create this jewel-like effect, each block a little window framing something beautiful at its center.

And what’s at the center? That’s where the fussy cutting comes in. Northcott’s Boho Bliss collection has these gorgeous medallion prints — intricate, almost kaleidoscopic — and the pattern is built around centering those motifs precisely inside each diamond. The result is twenty-five blocks, each one a tiny showcase, set on the diagonal and laced together with the most satisfying teal and red lattice work.

The color palette lands in that sweet spot where festive meets everyday. Rich enough to feel special, refined enough to live on the wall year-round.

The pattern offers two construction paths — traditional templates with freezer paper, or foundation piecing — so you can work in whatever method suits you best.
