Description
Cardinals are a bright spot in the trees any time of year. That happy burst of color, reminding me the doldrums of winter won’t last. They flit in and out of the pale spring blossoms, poke through the summer greenery, hide in fiery fall foliage. And if you believe in symbols, cardinals are said to be messengers from the spirit world. They were also my mom’s favorite bird. So when I see one, I think of her.
This quilt is full of them. Framed cardinal blocks and wreaths sit tucked into a soft slate and sage palette, with pops of crimson red scattered throughout, little reminders that something bright is always close by.
