Growing up, my dad set quite a high bar for a partner on holidays! Every Valentine’s Day morning, we came down to breakfast to find a little box of chocolates and a card. Of course, my mother got a much bigger box. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized what a generous and doting heart my dad has. He was the one who wrapped the Christmas gifts and stuffed our stockings. He was the one who filled our Easter baskets. He left the coins under our pillows for our baby teeth and took us trick-or-treating.
Cherished Hearts is my nod to those Valentine’s mornings, and to him. Rings of appliqué hearts bloom across nine simple blocks in the reds, pinks, and whites of Benartex’s Cherished collection.
