Jungle Flower

It was time for another EQ8 Block Challenge. This month’s block was Jungle Flower. It is a 4 x 4 combination of drunkard’s path blocks. Drunkard’s path blocks are quarter circles inset within a square. If you are very good at curved piecing, this block can be pieced. If you are more comfortable with applique, the semi-circles can be appliqued. There is no right or wrong way!

There are lots of ways to play with blocks in the EQ8 software. This month, I used the kaleidoscope function within the serendipity blocks. It turned this cute little block into a dynamite block! Then, I picked a simple on-point medallion layout from the EQ8 Quilt Library. The two edge blocks for the medallion selected were Jungle Flower and Cleopatra’s Puzzle, keeping the Drunkard’s Path theme. This was the stunning result!
