On Day 7 of the Bling Tree, it was time to kick things up a notch. A large button was added. I created a five spoked wheel by bringing threads up the middle and down the outside of the button. Think of a skinny star. I knotted a piece of organza ribbon around one of the spokes in the center. The other end of the ribbon was threaded through a tapestry needle. I used the needle to weave the ribbon in a circle, over and under, each of the spokes. It is important to have an ODD number of spokes. This created a rose on top of the button! To finish off the rose, I knotted the ribbon and pulled it under the rose.
To provide some additional embellishment, pink and gold seed beads and were added around the perimeter of the buttons.
