Description
I know most designers write their patterns in Adobe Illustrator. As usual, I do things a little differently. I write every one of my patterns in Microsoft Word. It’s a program I’ve used for years, and I’m comfortable in it. Most of my graphics are done in Word too. Some get imported from EQ8, others I build right there in Word itself, patterns and all. Did you know Word can fill shapes with patterns, herringbone, houndstooth, that kind of thing? Most people never dig that deep into it, but I have.
So, when this fabric collection landed on my desk, full of actual herringbone and houndstooth, I had to laugh a little.
This quilt lets those prints shine through a modern quarter log cabin block, tiered and turned so each fabric gets its own moment before handing off to the next.
