Description
Two favorites in one block. The Smyrna Star has long been one of my go-to embroidery stitches — that satisfying layered cross that builds into something that looks far more complex than it is. The quilted Compass Block has the same quality. When I sat down with EQ8 for a fabric challenge in 2020, I put them together, and this was the result.
The Shining Star Runner has been one of my most popular patterns ever since. Three crisp foundation-pieced stars float on a Magnolia ground, set on point and framed in Evergreen — elegant on a holiday table.
Foundation piecing newcomers will find the Fold, Trim, Sew, Press method clearly walked through step by step. The foundation template is included.
Finished Size: 25” x 59”
Skill Level: Intermediate
Introduction: Shining Star Runner is a beautiful introduction to foundation piecing that you can display during the holidays or give as a gift. The simple design makes it a great weekend project. Try it in your favorite color combinations for other occasions – silver and blue for winter or red, white and blue for July.
