I have a weakness for prism quilts. Always have. There is something deeply satisfying about watching a full spectrum march across a quilt top — color by color, row by row — until the whole thing glows.
This one started as a challenge: showcase a wide selection of Windham’s Anthology Lava collection using nothing but 2½-inch strips. Spoiler — yes. Enthusiastically yes.
Each colorway builds from deep and saturated on the outside to pale and creamy at the center, framed in crisp black checkerboard. The effect is exactly what the name promises — scoops of sherbet, stacked and glowing, row after delicious row. Hot, pink, purple, blue, teal, green, brown, grey. The whole spectrum. Not a dull moment anywhere.
If you love color, this quilt will make you very, very happy.
