Description
I’ll be honest — yellow flowers have never really been my thing. But three years ago, some neighborhood kids talked me into planting a few sunflowers along the side of my house. I had nothing else growing there yet, and sunflowers feed the birds, so why not. I didn’t expect to fall for it, but now I sit at my window most mornings watching the goldfinches perch on the flower heads, working the seeds loose one at a time. I haven’t planted a single sunflower since — I haven’t had to. The birds clearly approved, and every year a few more giant blooms show up on their own, courtesy of whatever seeds got dropped the season before.
This panel captured that same unplanned, generous energy. A simple stacked-border frame would have boxed it in, so instead every fabric in the surround does its own quiet job: a striped print echoes the stems, a busy yellow print picks up the flower’s energy without competing with it, navy bubbles nod to that deep center, and a soft gradient extends the background right off the edge of the panel. Nothing stacked, nothing static — just elements working together. That’s where the name comes from: integration, not decoration.
