Description
I was enamored with Arthurian legend when I was younger. I read every version I could find. Marion Zimmer Bradley’s Mists of Avalon for the mystical take. Mary Stewart’s Crystal Cave series for the romantic one. Jack Whyte’s Camulod series for the historical angle. Stephen Lawhead’s Pendragon Cycle is still sitting on my list. There’s something about that myth. It keeps living on, generation after generation, still tickling our imaginations.
Guinevere made it onto my list of favorite names from all that reading. And this pattern earned it. Those rows of flying geese, marching across in deep violets and blues, remind me of laces crisscrossing up a bodice. Feminine, but intricate. Exactly the kind of detail a legend deserves.
