When I saw the beautiful range of aqua shades in the Avalon collection by Windham Fabrics, I knew I wanted to play with a gradient. Flying geese felt like the perfect way to let the color flow across the quilt.
The sashing between the rows was actually a happy accident — a block landed in the wrong spot and suddenly created a stripe that looked just right. Sometimes the best design moments happen when the quilt decides for you.
