I like picking up little bits of foreign languages whenever I can. Japanese hasn’t come easily. Most of what I know, I’ve learned off restaurant menus. But I did pick up one genuinely valuable phrase from a college friend: wakarimasen. It means “I do not understand.” Honestly, that might be one of the most useful phrases in any language.
This fabric collection, though? I understood exactly what I wanted to do with it. Ginkgo branches drift across a soft, ombré background, and I wanted to give that panel room to breathe. A little simple piecing, some ombré, some running yardage, and this thing goes from wow to amazing.
