Are you a golf widow?? What is a golf widow? Answer: What is a woman whose husband spends all his free time at the golf course!

My hubby is an avid golfer and he is pretty good at it. I knew that when I married him. So, I took up golfing so we could spend time together.

Now, that doesn’t mean I am any good at it. We play best ball, meaning I pick up my ball and drop it wherever he is! I don’t think I have ever had a better shot. I am completely ok with that. We have only one rule – he can’t tell me what my score is. The minute I know there is a number associated with it, I get wiggy and can no longer enjoy it. I start to get competitive. And then I start making stupid mistakes. I get frustrates and make more mistakes. It is no longer any fun…

Really, I was talking about golfing not quilting! Ok, well maybe the same principle holds. That is why I don’t enter my quilts in competition. I do it for my pleasure, not for show.

So you may ask, if I took up golfing, does that mean he picked up quilting? Not quite. But he does help me when he can 🙂
