When I was a kid, my grandmother always kept a little dish of candy sitting nearby. I appreciate her willpower now. I have to keep mine in another room just so I’m forced to work for it. Sometimes her dish held M&Ms or penny candy. During the holidays, it was ribbon candy. But most often, it was Canada Mints or butter mints, and butter mints were always my absolute favorite. Little pastel pillows of subtle sweetness.
This quilt has that same soft, sugary charm. On-point diamonds float across the design like confectionary clouds, dressed in the same gentle pastels as a dish of butter mints. Sweet, simple, and easy to fall for.
