Description
The second large quilt I ever made was a Triple Irish Chain, queen size. I didn’t know how to free motion quilt, and I knew absolutely nothing about longarm quilting. But I also knew I wasn’t about to sit under it for a year hand quilting the way I did for my sister’s king-sized quilt. So, I pushed that whole thing through the throat of my little sewing machine. Twisted it, turned it, wrestled intricate daisies into the negative spaces, kept the chains themselves simple. I vowed right then that I’d never make another large quilt until I had a longarm, or could afford to pay someone who did.
This Triple Irish Chain carries that same classic charm, dressed up in a soft Provençal palette of peaches, florals, and toile. Chain Irlandaise, an Irish Chain with a little French flair.
