Smoothies have been all the rage as people are trying to eat and snack healthier. I can’t say my blender gets that much of a workout, but I do like a smoothie on occasion, especially if someone else is preparing them! I have a wonderful recipe book for them. Speaking of sweet treats, Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie is a delicious pattern using foundation and traditional piecing. It uses the scrumptious batik fabric collection from Windham called Strawberry Fields. The finished quilt is 67″ square, so it is a throw that will add a cheery pop of color to any room.
Half the fun of designing patterns for me is not only playing with new fabric lines, but also seeing how the patterns look with different fabrics. I do this while I test the patterns as often the fabric lines are not available when writing the instructions. This weekend, I was able to finally break into my stash after the move and start testing! Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie was tested on some of my stash to make a simple runner. I might add a little border around it, or just bind it as is…
We hope you will enjoy Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie!
Happy Quilting!
