Going Solo

As I look out my window today at the freshly fallen snow and listen to a few geese honking overhead, it seems to be the perfect time to share this pattern.

It reminds me of growing up in country. We would cross-country ski as soon as their was enough snow to pull our skis out. We would trek through farmer’s fields and forests. Living in the Adirondack’s there so many places to go! There were so many beautiful sights to see, log cabins dotting the hills. I would still love to have a little cabin in the woods….

Living in the north country, we watched for signs of the season. The return of the geese heralded spring or fall, depending upon the season. We were either anxious for the snow to come or for it to go!

This panel from Hoffman reminded me of those days – the skiing, the snow, the geese. That was the inspiration for this design.
