Bamboo Baskets

Description

When I lived near Washington, DC, we often visited the pandas—usually just glimpses of black and white tucked deep into the bamboo of their habitat. That layered, slightly hidden feeling stayed with me and became the inspiration for the border design in this quilt.

Bamboo Basket uses foundation piecing to create a strong, architectural frame that echoes the look of woven bamboo, giving the panel a sense of place rather than simply surrounding it.
