There is something soothing about the sea. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore is rhythmic, occasionally broken by the sound of birds. Sand and pebble beaches collect the spoils of the sea – driftwood, shells, sea glass, and other treasures. I know my version of the sea is romanticized, but it reflects my limited experience with it. I have such fond memories of swimming, sailing, snorkeling, and just walking along its shores.
The colors of the warm sea ranges from green to blue with hints of beige from the sandy shores. Fluffy white clouds and azure skies hang over the sea. Do you see it? These colors inspired Hoffman’s Sand and Sky collection. These colors needed a sea quilt to go with it, like “By the Seashore“. This quilt has several “beachy” elements – clams, shells, sand dollars, and sea horses. The quilt will help you to perfect your applique and curved piecing skills.
We hope you will give By the Seashore a whirl. The pattern is available in our shop for retail and wholesale.
Happy Quilting!
