On Day 9 of the Bling Tree, I needed a smaller ornament to fill the space. decided to add a little more variety. The start was button the same size as on day 2. This time, I added the button with a gold sequin and a small gold seed bead to cover the threads.

To add more interest and a little lightness to it. I added rainbow glass beads in a ring around the center. As before, the beads are added two at a time. Each time I added two, I started by rethreading the two before it. This helps keep them secure. Then, I used a picot stitch to add a little ruffle of beads. When adding the picot, you go through a bead, add three beads, and then go through two beads. This is much like crocheting. You continue until you reach the spot where you started. Finish by threading through the first bead, knot the thread and bury it in the batting.

I would love to see your ornaments. Post an image with #blingtree
