It has been fun watching Xiao Qi Ji grow, learn and play over the past year. Then again, it is fun to watch any fuzzy friend as they grow. They really are quite precious and precocious.
I can remember the first time I saw the panda at the zoo. It was a few decades ago, before the internet made such a thing so simple to do. We stood in line for hours just to get a glimpse of these giants. They were probably as worn out from watching us gawk as we were from waiting. They just sat munching on bamboo, looking pretty bored with us. I was just as impressed with their cousins the red pandas, a smaller, nimbler version who were much more active.
Given the anniversary of the panda in our area, I was excited to work with Timeless Treasures and the Dear Stella “Pande-monium” collection to create Panda Paws. This small quilt (51″ x 51″) combines traditional bear paw blocks and foundation pieced panda faces with this adorable print. It is a fun quilt for a new addition to the family or for someone who just loves bears, especially pandas.
We hope you make tracks and give the Panda Paws pattern a try. It is available in our shop for retail and wholesale.
Happy Quilting!
