Pansy Time

It is probably no secret that I love flowers. Each flower has something special about it. Pansies seem to have happy little faces that point toward the sun, even when most other flowers are too shy to come out. Maybe this image is influenced by the pansies featured in Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. Either way, pansies always remind me of the transition from warm to cold or cold to warm as they are often planted in these off seasons. Their bloom as much like the violet, but have more exotic coloring.

I wanted to capture these happy faces in a quilt. Ironically, Banyan sent this fabric was perfect for my idea. I used two traditional blocks and blended them with a unique sashing. This created the illusion of pretty pansies.

Two colorways, a traditional purple and a pretty apricot, are available. Also, two sizes are available, a throw and queen-sized quilt! So you can pick your palette and your size.
