When I was a kid, my grandmother had a toleware metal tray. It was probably note a true antique, but made in the 1950’s by Plymouth, Nashco, and Fine Arts Studio. Regardless, it was a beautiful black metal tray with a striking floral design painted in the middle. I loved to stare at that tray and image all sorts of romantic history around it.
That tray inspired Astral, which is a modern interpretation of that design. I used the black backing and floral motif, but added a mandala twist to it. This beautiful fusible applique pattern makes a lovely wall hanging or table topper.
Astral features Dear Stella’s Stardust Collection.
