I have been in a bit of a hero mode lately! That continues with Guitar Hero, which uses the rocking new fabrics from Dear Stella’s Pour Some Sugar On Me collection. The heavy metal influence of this fabric was electrifying. It reminded me of hazy concerts with bright lights and loud music. I could hear the guitars screaming and keyboards humming, so that became the focal point of the quilt design.
The quilt is uses foundation piecing (paper piecing) to create a modern guitar mandala with rays of light illuminating the corners. It is held together by the keyboard surrounding it, much like the music it represents. The foundation piecing makes this seemingly complicated design quite easy to assemble.
Pour Some Sugar on Me fabrics are augmented with the Dear Stella Moonscape fabrics. These fabrics are due to be released in September and can be previewed at Checker Distributers. The pattern is available for wholesale and retail.
